Tai Chi Workshop with Teacher Wu Rong-Huei from Taiwan
In order to gain the maximum health benefit and functional martial skills, your tai chi form has to follow the Tai Chi principles.
Teacher Wu will demonstrate the ten Tai Chi principles required to make the form correct and offer simple exercises to help you get the principles into your form practice.
Professor Cheng Man-Ching described three profound qualities that make up the essence of Tai Chi Chuan; No arms in Tai Chi, Beautiful lady's hand and invest in loss.
Teacher Wu will discuss the importance of these three qualities and how to make them a part of your daily practice. Tai Chi does not use brute force.
By developong sensing skills and an understanding of energy you can control your opponent's force before it becomes a problem.
Relevant Taoist concepts from Lao Tzu and Chueng Zu will be covered, along with a discussion of the principles of Yin/Yang balance and the I Ching.
We will explore several fundamental push-hands drills that will help broadoen our understanding of Yin/ Yang exchange and use of chi instead of force.
