Cheng Man-Ching Form and Push-Hands Workshop with Mr. Wu Rong-Huei

Time:  September 17 - 18 and September 24, 2016.
Location: Garrett Park/Kensigton, MD

Once again Mr. Wu Rong-Huei and his team will visit the US and give a workshop on the importance of the Tai Chi form practice and push-hands skills. Mr. Wu is a teacher of Cheng Man-Ching’s Yang Form Tai Chi. Mr. Wu has won over 20 gold medals in international competition. He was the reigning push- hands champion in Taiwan for over ten years. He is a well-respected Tai Chi teacher, coach and judge in Taiwan. He holds a Master’s degree in Physical Education with special emphasis on Tai Chi Chuan. In addition to running a large school in Taiwan, Mr. Wu also gives workshops in China, Europe and North America.

The focus of the Tai Chi training will include proper neutralization using a relaxed structure, 8 methods hand movement, maintaining a lively root, Master Soong’s 12 Stretching Exercises (designed to further open and strengthen the joints), and proper alignment of the joints in form practice so one can have great strength while remaining relaxed as explained in the Tai Chi classics etc. Mr. Wu will also discuss the push-hands actions in light of the Tai Chi classics and the Tao Te Ching.

There will also be a series of two person drills to help illustrate proper rooting and neutralizing skills, etc. Mr. Wu gave a workshop here two years ago, and the feedback was very positive. Space is limited to 25 people, so don’t miss this opportunity to learn and practice with a very accomplished teacher.

Once again, Mr. Wu will donate the proceeds to the Chinese Tai Chi foundation in Taipei, Taiwan, which does chartable work including offering free Tai Chi lessons to the blind.
